<itunes:summary>
Brother Alex White spoke this morning, from 2 Corinthians 2:5-11, and 1 Peter 5:5-11, his subject being "The Devil."
The Devil is a personal spiritual being who influences the minds of all people whether you belong to him or not.
He teaches his own that they are free people with a free will, while they are in fact bond slaves in darkness. He does not tempt his own, but encourages them to steal, kill and destroy.
Fear dominates devil culture.
Regarding the Lord's people; the Devil hates the Bible, but his main point of attack is on the believers assurance of Eternal Salvation.
The Devil will tempt the people of God.
He hates the unity of the Church.
We must stand firm, resist his advances, put on the whole armour of God and fight, remembering that at the name of Jesus, Satan's host doth flee.
His time is short. His doom is writ.

James 1:13-18

<itunes:summary>As our pastor Darryl spoke from James 1:13-18, on the subject of temptation. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden Of Eden we have indulged in the "blame game." Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the Serpent; for their behaviour, eventually Adam blamed God, "The woman You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." God tempts no man, we are responsible for our own sin. Note carefully, 1 Corinthians 10:13. We must be accountable; responsible; ready; and thankful; if we desire to live to the glory of God.

James 1:17-27

<itunes:summary>Pastor Darryl spoke to us from the Epistle of James, Ch.1v17-27.
He began by illustrating just how fragile life is, emphasising the fact that we must be real in our faith, making every day count.
This passage in James is a call to holiness.
We must not only read God's word, but apply it to our lives, making sure that we are doers of the word, not hearers only.
We must be quick to hear (and listen), slow to speak and slow to anger, leaving God to judge, and deal with issues.
We must get rid of the 'filth' of life. We are grafted into Christ - allow the 'Master' to prune that we may bear good fruit.
Be serious in reading God's word using it as a daily cleansing.
Do not become a complacent surface level Christian.

One summer evening in 1865, a young William Booth walked the slums of London's east end among the filthy ragged and destitute, declaring that, "There is Heaven in East London for everyone."
Pastor Darryl spoke from the Epistle of James Ch.2v1-13, his subject being, God honouring conduct.
We must not show favouritism, prejudice or partiality towards others.
All people are equal, and all are important.
We must avoid elitism, and the 'showy physical', but look inward to the heart. We should never judge others, and must not justify 'little sins' as though they are of no consequence.
As Brothers and Sisters, we are ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.
         HE IS OUR EXAMPLE.
             Have no wrong motives, BE LIKE HIM, LOVE LIKE HIM.

James - Genuine Faith - Living Faith

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 2:14-26</itunes:subtitle>

James 2:14-26

<itunes:summary>Faith in Jesus Christ as both Lord and Saviour is essential for life, but it must not stop there.
Both Abraham and Rahab epitomised faith by their works, and we should do likewise.
Genuine faith is needed, not just mere words.
Faith and works go together, we cannot have one without the other. Faith must produce fruit. A new birth is followed by a new life.
We must be Christ centred not self centred.
We must both talk the talk, and walk the walk. Evidence that we are living our faith must be seen.
We must realise that a profession of faith is not necessarily a possession of faith.
A true believer shows vital signs, and should live believing that God is not merely a GREAT God, but a GIGANTIC God.
DARE TO BE HOLY!

James - Concerning the tongue

James 3:1-12

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke from the Epistle of James 3:1-12.
Concerning the tongue.
To be human is to communicate, but communication so often fails. Wrong words can destroy, their effect being like a stain that may be covered up but never completely removed.
Our tongue though small, is near impossible to control. Like a bit in the mouth of a horse, the rudder of a ship, or the spark that starts a great fire, its power is disproportionate to its size.
We must always be on guard, remembering that by our words we will be either justified or condemned. We should not communicate negatively, but always try to build up.
When we speak, do people hear a "Jesus accent?"
The words we speak should be graceful and spirit filled as we yield our tongue to God.

James - Heavenly Wisdom - Spirit vs flesh

James 3:13-18

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke today from the Epistle of James Ch 3:13-18.
The subject being, Heavenly wisdom. The spirit versus the flesh.
Peacemakers who sow in peace, raise a harvest of righteousness.
Jesus, throughout His life, made all the right choices.
We must therefore choose whether to follow God's way, or man's system of human achievement.
As believers, do we choose to live under His headship, living our life to the glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, or do we just refuse His direction?
Earthly wisdom is sensual, devilish and not from God.
Heavenly wisdom, comes from a clear understanding of God's word, which will give us 'Spiritual integrity'.
People must be able to see in our lives, the things about which we speak! We must endeavour to, 'Walk in the Spirit, overcome the flesh and live a Holy life.'
Choose you this day whom you will serve!

James - Cure for Worldliness - Overcoming Pride

James 4:1-10

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke today from the Epistle of James Ch.4v1-10, his subject being, 'The cure for worldliness.'
The story is told, that as the great ocean liner Titanic began to sink into the icy waters of the Irish sea, the ships band came up on deck and continued to play the popular dance music, but as the end drew near, they changed mode and played the old hymn, 'Nearer my God to Thee. 'Staying close to God and giving Him complete control over every aspect of life, is the only way that we can avoid the traps prepared for us by the evil one.
We must avoid the trap of selfishness which was first seen in the Bible with Eve. Selfishness lies deep within a contentious heart, which in turn leads to arguments, fighting and a lack of unity.
We must beware of secularism; a love of the world with no room for God. Remember that the world system is anti God.
Satan's first weapon is pride, even though it was through pride that he himself fell. If we refuse to surrender, the devil will flee.
Love God supremely. His grace is greater than all our sin.

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's subject this morning, was "Practising Humility" taken from the epistle of James Ch.4v11-17.
Don't cruise through life with your spiritual engine turned off. Remember that the Lord is coming.
We should not judge, be critical or slander, but confront people when necessary in love. We should live by God's law of love, (Love God and love your neighbour) remembering that God is judge, lawgiver and in all things Sovereign.
We should not boast or become proud, but rely on God and trust Him with all things, remembering that all our plans are limited by His Sovereign will.
We should always be humble and acknowledge God always when making decisions, trusting Him on a daily basis.
Our days are numbered. Be careful about tomorrow.
Only one life, 'twill soon be past.
Only what's done for Jesus will last.

James - Righteous Living - Overcoming Worldliness

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 5:1-12</itunes:subtitle>

James 5:1-12

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's subject today was 'Righteous living; overcoming worldliness.' The Bible reading was the Epistle of James Ch.5v1-12.)
The big question being, "How to live by faith in a secular world."
In the era of Roman dominion, there was no middle class, you were either rich or poor, and Christians were generally poor. The rich lived selfishly, hoarding and clinging to possessions, while the poor were unfairly paid and oppressed. They however knew that the Lord was coming back, and lived with this hope before them.
These things need to be remembered now.
We need to remember that blessings come from the Lord.
The Lord is at the door, we should look for His return, but work while waiting. Avoid grumbling and making false promises.
Christ alone is Judge.
Cling to Jesus Christ. He is in control.
The King is coming. It may be today!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His Wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His Glory and Grace.

James - Prayer - Power of Prayer

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 5:13-20</itunes:subtitle>

James 5:13-20

<itunes:summary>
In the adverse experiences of life, we need to learn to Stop, Pray and Practise Patience.
Prayer is one of the most neglected areas in the life of the Christian.
Elijah, a great man of faith, prayed earnestly, and God did great things through him. He wanted God's will to be done, not his own, and he gave God the glory.
We should pray for those suffering for their faith, those who are sick and those experiencing the trials of life.
Pray personally - Pray for one another - Pray when things are good or adverse. God will answer your prayer.
Pray and wait for God to work, remembering that He may be using the difficult times in order to raise a person in His service.
Spend time alone with Him in prayer. Satan knows the fearsome worth of time spent at the Saviour's feet. He will do any thing to distract and will impose any barrier to this Holy place.
Satan wants you to be sad.
Pray in the name of the Lord, call out to Him, be real in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged. Take it to the Lord in Prayer.

Song of Solomon 2:8-3:5

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's message this morning entitled "Courting", was taken from the 'Song of Solomon' Ch. 2v8 -3v5.

Are you in love with the Lord and eagerly awaiting His return?
The Shulamite girl in the above passage is very much in love. She and her lover are for a while apart, but she is yearning for his return.
During the separation, she questions his love for her above all others. She awaits his return, but she is not sure.
He, however makes it publicly clear that she is his one true love.
His banner of love is over her and her alone.
Do you love Jesus? Do you yearn for Him as the Shulamite yearned for her absent lover?
Don't get caught up with sin, letting the "little foxes" rule your life. Don't embrace the material and transient things of the world, thus forsaking your first love.
Christ wants a fervent, passionate and total relationship with you.
His love will never fail; His banner is over you. Communicate with Him. Pray. Be lovesick for your Lord.
He is coming back soon and swiftly for His Bride, the Church.
Take refuge in the One you love.
'In my hand no price I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling.
Rock of ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee.'

Song of Solomon - Royal Wedding

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Song of Solomon 3:6-5:1</itunes:subtitle>

Song of Solomon 3:6-5:1

<itunes:summary>
Some six months ago through media coverage, we were able to witness a Royal wedding, with all the pomp and ceremony that goes with such an occasion. It was exciting, romantic and we hope, a once in a life time event. Pastor Darryl spoke this morning of another Royal wedding, that of King Solomon and his Shulamite bride.
The Bride, longing for her King sees him approaching, and detects, the perfume of the Royal spices, myrrh and frankincense. A sweet aroma surrounds her King as he draws near.
The King, yearns to protect his bride. He has made adequate provision for this. He comes in splendour, reflecting the true glory of his kingship.
As this King comes for his bride, so will Christ come for His bride, the church. He longs to take His loved ones home.
The Church meanwhile should leave a sweet aroma in the world.
We are the "aroma" of Christ to the unsaved.
Our protection is through prayer. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. As the king loved his bride, so Christ loves His church. We need to understand the depth of His love. He went to Calvary and died for us.
O the deep deep love of Jesus, love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean vast of blessing, 'tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep deep love of Jesus, 'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory, for it lifts me up to Thee.

Song of Solomon 6:4-8:4

<itunes:summary>
Speaking once again from the Song of Solomon Ch.6v4-8v4. Pastor Darryl's topic this morning was, Mature Love.
King Solomon's love for his Shulamite bride has lasted throughout the years, and is obvious to all. She is still beautiful in his eyes and he still compliments her. The spark of first love is still there. In his opinion, she is true royalty.
As we move forward into the present time, these things should still be. A good marriage should be full of love and enjoyment, and problems need always to be dealt with as they arise.
Do not get into the situation of being unequally yoked. If both are walking with the Lord, you will both love Him and each other.
The Lord loves you more than you can ever know. Time spent in His presence and time with each other are both essential.
Love is a total commitment.
Love strengthens and intensifies as it gets deeper.
Passion and durability cannot be extinguished.
Love is priceless.
Submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, love Him, bond with Him.
Refer to His instruction manual often. It will not lead you astray.
Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know.
Spirit breathing from above, thou hast taught me, it is so.
O this full and perfect peace, O this transport all divine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.

Creation 101 - The Origin of the Universe - Heavens and Earth Created

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Genesis 1:1-25</itunes:subtitle>

Genesis 1:1-25

<itunes:summary>
By the word of the Lord, the Heavens were made. (Psalm 33v6.)
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning on, 'The origin of the Universe.'
"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth." (Gen.1v1.)
Evolutionists teach that everything evolved from a pre existing something. God however, in His Infinite power created the world from a 'blank canvas. (out of nothing.)
God created, controls and sustains all that He has made. There is a purpose in nature; God sets the boundaries. He is the God of the universe who gives life to everything and without Him nothing was made that was made. Even those who will not acknowledge God have no excuse, for 'Since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly to be seen by all. (Romans 1v20.)
When God had finished His work of creation, He said that it was good. Unlike our feeble efforts, He got it right at the first go!
There are two statements in the Word of God that Satan particularly detests, the first being, "In the beginning God created," and the second, "Jesus Christ came to save."
Do you believe in the God of creation who sent His only Son to die for your sins and mine? Do you love Him? He created you also!
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small.
All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
He gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

He's Coming Again

<itunes:summary>
THE KING IS COMING.
He is coming again, was the subject of Brian White's address this morning, taken from 1Thess. Ch.4v13-18.
God always keeps His promises. Right through the ages, none have ever failed. The last promise recorded in His word is, "Surely, I am coming quickly." (Rev. Ch. 22v20.)
Quickly! Yes, but the actual time is not for us to know. "Of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." (Matt. Ch.24v36.)
We should be living our life as though He is coming today. We will have no warning. He will come unexpectedly so we should always be prepared. "Behold, I am coming as a thief, blessed is he who watches" (Rev. Ch.16v15.)
Signs predicting His 'near' return are in the Scriptures, and we can see these taking place. Israel has become a nation once again. The Word of God is being preached worldwide. There is an increase in lawlessness and self centeredness Personal standards are declining and there is a distinct lack of discipline.
The signs are but guideposts. The fact is that,
The King is coming! The King is coming!
Praise God, He's coming for me.
Are you ready to meet Him?
Be sure. There are no last minute second chances.

<itunes:summary>
The foolish man says in his heart that there is no God; but all things were created through Him, and for Him. We were created for His good pleasure, and in His image.
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from Genesis Ch. 1v26-2v25. The subject was, Man/Woman created.
Creating human life, was the crowning point of all of God's creation.
God saw that it was very good. God created a body for us as a temple in which His Holy Spirit may dwell. Man is a unique creation with a personality, a conscience, and the ability to communicate with Him. We possess knowledge, feelings and a free will
We were made to know right from wrong, and to take responsibility for our own actions.
Our conscience must be governed by the Word of God which is infallible. Sin has marred our ability to communicate with God for all have sinned and fallen short of God's standards.
He only can reach down through the blood of Jesus to lift us up from the pit of sin.
The Lord's last word to the Church was a plea for repentance
Would you be free from your burden of sin?
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's power in the blood of the Lamb!

Health Check - Spiritual Health Check

1 Thessalonians 4:1-12

<itunes:summary>
Speaking from the first Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians Ch.4v1-12. Pastor Darryl this morning gave us a "Spiritual Health Check."
When the Lord gave the Law to Moses, one of the instructions that He gave for the people was, "To sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye Holy." (Lev.20v7.)
To be sanctified, means, to be set apart for God's honour.
To be called into His kingdom, and used for His Glory.
Remember that you are a child of the Heavenly Father.
We should be Holy in all our behaviour - we must -
Be separated from the worlds passions.
Pursue Godliness, remembering that immorality hurts others.
The worlds sins are now more easily tolerated, and glossed over with softened language and a don't care attitude.
2. Be separated into the Kings passions.
We should reject the sins of the world around us, and love one another just as Christ loves us. Endeavour to love even the most difficult. Spread love around.
Be separated to magnify the King.
Don't stir up problems. Work for Him instead.
Give glory to Him alone. Keep growing. Go forwards.
Be a light to a lost world.
Fly like an Eagle

Health Check - A Healthy Family

Pastor Darryl's subject this morning, was "A healthy family," reading from Genesis Chapter 37, but good to read on!

Parents and Grandparents, do children see God's love through you?
All of our homes are to a greater or lesser degree dysfunctional and imperfect, and the home of Jacob was very much like both of the above. Adultery, deceit and incest were all present. Jacob was not a good father, showing much favouritism to both Rachel and her two sons. Joseph was spoilt to the point where his older brothers hated him, but in spite of all that happened to him, he led a Godly life.
He was truthful, hard working, and maintained high moral standards.
God protected Joseph, and later when in a position of great power, he looked after those who had wronged him years earlier.
How about you?
How do you treat your family? How do you treat other people?
You are responsible for your own actions. No one else!
God worked through Joseph, and will work through you also if you give Him opportunity.
It's never too late to change.
Remember, we are all a work in progress!
Be more like Jesus.

Speaking from 1Thessalonians Ch.5 v12-28. Pastor Darryl's subject this morning was, "A healthy church."
Regarding personal life, a Christian should live close to the Master, and endeavour to glorify Christ in all things. Let Christ be seen through you.
In our church, we should stimulate each other to personal growth, and show respect for one another, particularly those in leadership, always remembering that Christ is the head over all.
Be humble, don't seek after power, but encourage those who teach and lead. Lift up God's word at all times.
Be at peace with one another, bearing with one another in love.
Encourage the timid and weak.
Be patient with the more difficult. Have a long fuse!
Don't pay back wrong for wrong, revenge should come from God only. Love those who wrong you instead.
Rejoice-be happy-pray, for God cannot answer unless we ask.
In everything give thanks. Don't put out the Holy Spirit's fire. Allow Him to guide and lead.
Remember, we are all equal in Christ.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely;
And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

<itunes:summary>
Speaking once again from the life of Joseph (Genesis Ch.42-47.) Pastor Darryl's subject was, "A Healthy Community."
As a teenager, Joseph was "dealt with" by jealous brothers who dropped him into a pit and sold him to some Ishmaelites who took him into Egypt and further sold him into the house of Pharaoh.
He worked his way into a position of authority but sometime later he had cause to escape from Potiphar's wife who tried to trap him into a compromising situation. Joseph fled but found himself in prison for his integrity. He was forgotten by Pharaoh's baker whose dreams he had correctly interpreted, and stayed there until God was ready.
Joseph had plenty to be bitter about, but he had a consciousness of God, who had great plans for him. God gave Joseph the spiritual ability to see the "big picture" and it was through him that the world as it was then, was saved from starvation.
Joseph had faith in God's word and God's promises. He cared about people, and kept a good attitude regardless of circumstances.
Are you like Joseph? Do you care about people? Do you care about those in your community? Remember that God is watching over everything that you do.
Can the love of Christ be seen in you?
Reach out, and follow His perfect example.

Awesome Saviour I

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Matthew 12:1-14</itunes:subtitle>

Matthew 12:1-14

<itunes:summary>
Using the Scripture passage Matthew Ch.12v1-14, Pastor Darryl spoke this morning about our "Awesome Saviour."
Where does the Sabbath (Sunday) fit into today's society?
What do you think of the Sabbath?
Jesus' disciples were criticized by the Pharisees for satisfying their hunger by plucking and eating from heads of grain, on the Sabbath. According to the law this was quite permissible, but the 'legalists' accused them of breaking the laws of the Sabbath. The Pharisees in fact elevated their personal traditions above the word of God and made the observance of the Sabbath an unnecessary burden.
They ignored he fact that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. (Mark Ch.2v27.)
For us, Sunday should be different. We need a day to slow down and rest, but in doing this, we should not ignore the genuine needs of those around us.
"What man is there among you, who has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
We need to make God number one on this day. It is the Lord's day.
Just take life's busyness out of Sunday. Come apart, rest a while and take time to listen to God.

Matthew 12:22-45

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl Spoke from Matthew Chapter.12v 22-45. reminding us once again that we have an "Awesome Saviour."
Who is the greatest person that you have ever read about?
In the above verses, we read of Jonah who in spite of his early disobedience, was miraculously used by God, in that "the men of Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah.[v41] We read also of the Queen of Sheba who came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon [v42], but Jesus Christ the Messiah was greater than these."
He was the Servant; the Saviour; the Hope of the Gentiles; the Peacemaker; the Messiah..
He was hated by the Pharisees who accused Him of being the Devil, and wanted to kill Him, but His authority and supernatural power was far greater than anything that they could think up.
He came to seek and save all who are lost.
He came to die for all sin that we may be forgiven, and for those who accept and love Him, there is no sin that cannot be forgiven.
In Eternity, we will all come before the judgement seat of Christ. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
Will He welcome you, or will you be confronted with the words,
"Depart - I never knew you!"
If your 'house' is empty, open the door and let Him in.
Come to the Saviour, make no delay.

Who is this Jesus?

<itunes:author>Brian White</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Brian White preached on - John 1:29-34</itunes:subtitle>

John 1:29-34

<itunes:summary>

Speaking from the Gospel of John Ch.1v29-34, Brian White asked the question, "Who is this Christ of Easter?"
Some have said that He is a fool; a legend; or perhaps a myth, while others just think of Him as a good man, a teacher or maybe even one of the Prophets. It was Peter at Caesarea Philippi, who when asked the question by the Lord Himself, came up with the statement of real truth. "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
In this passage, Jesus called himself -
The Son of man. He left heaven, taking upon himself human form. As a human, His needs were as ours in that He needed food, rest, drink, and sleep. When tempted, he was sinless. He was both truly Human and truly Divine.
The Son of God. He had power over, Sickness, death, demons, and the elements. [Luke Ch.8.]
The Lamb of God. Under O.T. law, a perfect lamb was sacrificed for the forgiveness of a persons sin. As the sinless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ gave His life for the sins of all mankind. He died for You!
Have you accepted this fact, and made Him Lord of your Life?
Can you in absolute truth, say -

"King of my life I crown thee now, Thine shall the Glory be;
Lest I forget thy thorn crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.
Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony,
Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary."

The first Lord's Supper

Luke 22:1-23

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's topic this morning, was "The First Lord's Supper", the Scripture passage being, Luke Chapter 22v1-23.
Many years before this, there was a night in Egypt when the Lord struck the firstborn in every home. There was not a house where there was not one dead. {Ex. Ch.12v30} In the homes of Israel, a lamb had been sacrificed and its blood put on the lintle and side posts of every door as a sign to the Lord. Israel was delivered through the shed blood of the Passover Lamb, and so it is with us.
Jesus Christ was the fulfilment of the Passover Lamb. He gave new meaning to the ancient feast. It was Calvary that gave new meaning to the 'Exodus' experience.
The Lord's death was exactly as prophesied and planned by the Almighty God. Every detail was known by Him even before creation, and Jesus was in total control of every aspect.
On the night that Jesus was betrayed, around the table with His disciples, Jesus took bread - and then the cup, symbols of His body broken, and His blood to be shed for us. For you and for me.
He is the Passover Lamb.
Do you know Him as Lord of your life? Can you honestly say -
"Wounded for me, wounded for me,
There on the cross he was wounded for me.
Gone my transgressions, and now I am free.
All because Jesus was wounded for Me."

Luke 22:24-62

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning about "Troubled Times" from the Gospel of Luke Ch.22v39-62.
We are at present living in a world that is unstable - politically, financially, spiritually, and so on. All of this however fades into insignificance when compared to the events of Easter.
In the garden of Gethsemane, rejected by the Jews and deserted by His friends, the Son of God surrendered Himself to go to the Cross. He tasted our judgement, and was crushed for our sins, but was always in total control.
From the very beginning of time, He always knew what would happen and could have called upon twelve legions of Angels to rescue Him, but, obedient to the Father's will, He went to the cross to die that we might live. His blood was shed for our redemption.
When asked if He was indeed Jesus, He replied, "I AM HE" [I am God.] When He left the glories of Heaven, He became fully Human, but He was also fully Divine. He accepted the will of the Father and drank the cup of suffering for you.
Have you surrendered your life to the one who died for you, or are you just pretending?
"Dying for me, dying for me,
There on the cross, He was dying for me;
Now in His death my redemption I see,
All because Jesus was dying for me."

Job - Introduction to Job

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Job 1:1-2, 10</itunes:subtitle>

Job 1:1-2, 10

<itunes:summary>
This morning Pastor Darryl's subject was, "An introduction to Job," reading from the book of Job Chapter 1- Ch.2v10.
Has your personal 'life's train' ever run off the tracks?
Due to sin, we all during our span of life suffer in various ways.
Job was immensely wealthy, but was a man of integrity, a man of God, who was blameless and upright, who feared God and shunned evil. He was to his family a priest type who prayed over them, led them and was greatly blessed.
Enter Satan who knew all about Job. Remember, that the devil has access to the throne room of God.
God gave him permission to attack Job in almost every way, but Job's life must be spared. Satan attacked both his possessions and his person, but in spite of all that was thrown at him, Job honoured God and continued to pray. He even stood up against his wife who taunted him, telling him to "curse God and die."
Remember, that Satan has power, but only as allowed by God, but as his time grows shorter, he is still going to and fro on the earth and walking back and forth on it looking for mischief. We must never despair but look at the big picture. God always comes through.
May our constant prayer be,
"Take the world, but give me Jesus,
All it's joys are but a name;
But his love abideth ever,
Through eternal years the same."

Job - Job's friends

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Job 2:11-15</itunes:subtitle>

Job 2:11-15

<itunes:summary>
This mornings sermon title was, "JOB'S FRIENDS." [Job Ch.2v11-15.]
Job, who at this point in the narrative was so ill that he was barely recognisable, had three friends who had heard of the trouble that had fallen upon him, and had decided to visit. Their idea, was to mourn with him and to comfort him. [v11]
Pastor Darryl's opening comment was, "With friends like these, who needs enemies." Job himself later on in the book, calls them, "Miserable comforters." [Ch.16v12.]
To give them some credit, they came on their own initiative, they were not repelled at the sight of him, and showed genuine grief. Above all, they sat with him in silence on the ground for seven days and nights. In short, they were there for him.
When conversation started, they made mistakes, wrongly assuming that God was judging Job. They had no facts! The talk, dispute and debate that follows, was the work of Satan, but through it all, Job knew that he had both a Mediator and a Redeemer.
We all need good strong faithfull friends that will always be there for us.
The best way to help the hurting, is to be present, say little, but show that you care. What sort of a friend are you?
Do you know that we have a true friend and mediator who is always there for us, and died for our personal sins.
The Man Christ Jesus. Talk to HIM.

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He'll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.

Job - God speaks to Job

Job 38:1-14; 42:10-16

<itunes:summary>
GOD SPEAKS TO JOB was Pastor Darryl's sermon title this morning. The verses from Scripture were, Job Ch.38v1-14. Ch.42v10-16.

Up to this point in the narrative, we see Job and his friends, just talking and debating. Their conversation is clever, but nevertheless rubbish, eloquent but empty of substance.
They either do not realise, or choose to totally ignore the presence of God.
God is not impressed. He arrives in a storm, and proceeds confront Job concerning his arrogance. Job is told to prepare himself like a man; he then becomes silent in the presence of the Great Creator.
God then endeavours to teach Job, hitting him with many questions, but Job lacks the understanding that he needs in order to come up with any answers. In the end however, he starts to understand and shows humility.
He realises that it is not necessary to have the right answers, but to just trust in God who is in total control, with His hand ever on the pulse of creation.
Our God is an awesome God. Do not put Him in a box.
He reaches out to us in various ways, but can always be seen through the observance of His creation.

"For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His Eternal Power and Godhead, so that they [people] are without excuse."
Romans Ch.1v20.
Trust Him, He is there for you.

God's gift that Hannah gave back

1 Samuel 1:1-18

<itunes:summary>
Graeme Lowe spoke to us this morning, on the subject of Prayer, from the
First book of Samuel Chapter 1.
Never make promises in Prayer that you do not intend to keep as situations change.
Elkanah had two wives, Peninnah and Hannah. Hannah at this point in her life was childless, and in those times, this carried with it he stigma of not being blessed by God. She was being taunted and was unhappy.
The family made a yearly pilgrimage to Shiloh in order to worship the Lord and make a sacrifice at the Tabernacle which was situated there.
It was during one of these visits that Hannah was seen by Eli the priest, praying and pouring out her soul to the Lord. After making sure that she was not drunk, he blessed her.
Hannah leaves, at peace with God and in the process of time she is blessed with children. Her first born son, Samuel she gave back into the service of the Lord as she had promised in her prayer to God.
Samuel was born when Israel was in crisis. He was a man of God; Israel's last Priest/Prophet before the establishment of Kings to rule.
Hannah prayed for Samuel, and as Parents and Grandparents it is our duty to pray for our children. A child with a heart for God, will reach its potential in all areas.
Remember that God himself gave His firstborn Son to be made a sacrifice for the sins of all mankind.
What have you given in return?
Be like Hannah. Pray and mean it!

Why bad things happen to God's people

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Matthew 14:1-12</itunes:subtitle>

Matthew 14:1-12

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from Matthew Chapter 14v1-14. asking of us the question, "Why do bad things happen to God's people?"
John the Baptist, was the last of the Old Testament style prophets. He came to the people with a message of repentance.
He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord." John was more than a prophet, chosen by God, yet God allowed him after a very short public ministry, to be arrested, imprisoned, and finally beheaded for his stand against Herod's evil ways.
John was "THE VOICE." He showed -
V ulnerability. He put himself in a dangerous position when he criticized Herod's marital status. He was -
O utspoken. On several occasions he spoke up when all others withdrew. He showed -
I ntegrity. He was honest in his speech. Herod on the other hand was a weak hypocrite who made unreal promises. He was -
C ourageous. Imprisoned, but did not give up. He sent the Disciples to Christ for answers. He was also a good -
E xample for others. He was willing to die for his convictions, and to tell others that he must decrease in order for Christ to increase.
John was the first martyr for Christ.

Does your voice carry the same message as that of John the Baptist?
Do you stand up, stand up for Jesus as a 'soldier of the cross?'

The Transfiguration

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Matthew 17:1-9</itunes:subtitle>

Matthew 17:1-9

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl's subject was the Transfiguration of our Lord, reading from Matthew's Gospel Chapter 17v1-9.
Peter, James and John were taken by Jesus to a high mountain, and it was here that God allowed the 'curtains' to be drawn back and just for a short while, let His Glory be revealed to them
Jesus was transfigured before their eyes. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Moses and Elijah also appeared and were seen talking with Him.
Seeing Jesus in His Glorified state, was their 'mountain top' experience.
Jesus did not reflect God {as did Moses} He was God.
He did not reflect the Glory. He was the Glory.
The time for Jesus death was approaching. The most important event in history, the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord was soon to occur.
The disciples now had to come down from their spiritual mountain top and prepare to face this reality.
We all during the term of our life, have personal mountain top experiences, they strengthen our faith, but sooner or later, we have to come back to earth and apply the benefits.
Moses came down from Mt. Sinai to mentor Joshua. Elijah, to mentor Elisha, and Jesus Christ came down, setting His face toward Jerusalem and then on to Calvary.
Have you on your personal mountain top, heard the voice of God, inviting you to listen? Have you heard? Are you being obedient to His will?
Can you honestly say, "I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today. He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives within my heart."

Take up your cross

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Matthew 16:13-28</itunes:subtitle>

Matthew 16:13-28

<itunes:summary>

Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me."

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS, was Pastor Darryl's subject this morning, taken from The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 16v13-28.
Caesarea Philippi, was the turning point of our Lord's ministry. It was here that His public ministry wound down as He set His face towards Jerusalem and the events that would occur there, and it was here that He asked the disciples if they realised His true identity, and that from now on, following Him would come at an even greater cost. This would involve a total commitment, self denial, and possibly even death.
As Peter finally realised who Jesus Christ really was, many people now are wondering just who is it that that Christians are following.
What do people see in you as you profess Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? Are you see to be genuine and real?
The disciples put their life's "on hold" in order to follow Him, and they learned that trials are part of the journey.
Following Jesus comes at a cost. Abandon this worlds philosophies and develop a real relationship with the only friend who will never let you down.
Be prepared to deny self as you journey along with Him.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit and pray continually for Him to work in your life.
Be prepared to say and really mean:-
It's no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me.
He lives, He lives, Jesus is alive in me.
It's no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me.

A Hunger for God

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Brian White preached on - Isaiah 6:1-7</itunes:subtitle>

Isaiah 6:1-7

<itunes:summary>
Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts. The whole earth is full of His Glory. [Isaiah Ch.6v3.]
The above statement from the Word of God is undoubtedly true, so why is it that people are still searching?
Brian Whites subject this morning was, 'A hunger for God' taken from the book of Isaiah Ch.6v1-8.
At present there seems to be a worldly desire among people for things 'spiritual'. They are looking into astrologers, mediums, crystals, new age philosophies, in fact everywhere but the Word of God.
There is an emptiness in the human heart that needs to be filled.
Isaiah saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up. Above the throne were Seraphim [angelic beings] with their faces and feet covered in the presence of His Holiness.
Isaiah felt the awesome power and presence of God. He became aware of his personal sin and of the need to repent. He had an acute sense of his own unworthiness.
Isaiah was cleansed. His mouth was touched with a live coal taken from the altar of sacrifice which prefigured the cross, and he heard the words, "Your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged." He is forgiven.
Isaiah was obedient. He was set up for a life of obedience and service for the Lord. He was ready to go, and to say, "Here am I Lord. Send me."

We too should experience a hunger for the things of God in our lives, and to be like Isaiah, ready to hear and obey.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,
God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity.

Galatians - Intro to Galatians

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 1:1-9</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 1:1-9

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl gave us an introduction into Paul's Epistle to the Galatians, from Chapter 1v1-9.
Galatians, is in the form of a letter sent by Paul to the Churches in that area. The subject matter, is, "A stand for the truth."
Paul deals here with heresy that is being introduced into the church, and is astonished that the people have so soon turned away to a different Gospel, back in fact to Mosaic law. They were being taught that salvation is by works, and that Jesus was good, but not enough. The teachers had put grace aside and replaced it with the law. Paul endeavours to get the message through that the Gospel and legalism were poles apart, and that 'man' centered needed to become 'Christ' centered. His own conversion on the Damascus road was a direct call from God, and they needed to understand that, Christ died according to the Scriptures, was buried according to the Scriptures, and rose again according to the Scriptures.

The Gospel message is one of grace, peace, joy, and freedom. Christ is our Redeemer who paid the price for our sin with his own life. Nothing else is needed. Grace must not be polluted with the restrictions of legalism.
Salvation is by faith only, not of works.
The intruders aim was to shake the foundation of the Church. They either did not realise or chose to forget that:-
The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is His new creation by water and the Word:
From Heaven He came and sought her, to be His holy bride;
With His own blood He brought her, and for her life He died.

Galatians - Paul's Message

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 1:10-2:21</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 1:10-2:21

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl spoke to us on the subject of Paul's message, found in Galatians Chapter 1v10-2v1-21.

In short, the Apostle Paul's message is that, 'the simple purity of the Gospel message is all that is needed for salvation.' Paul is deeply concerned that the Jewish legalists of that time were hindering the advance of Christianity by adding humanism and the law to the Gospel message. They were teaching the people that there was no getting into heaven without obedience to the law, (regardless of the fact that the law was never able to be obeyed in its entirety, ) and that the simple message of the gospel on its own was just not enough.
Paul was trying to get through to them the fact that the gospel was for all people, and that Christ had given His life for all, both Jew and Gentile alike.
The forgiveness of sins was through belief in this fact, and that "the stone" the old Mosaic law was no longer necessary.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ which is full of grace and forgiveness was the only way to go.
The Bible however tells us that faith without works is dead. The Church should show genuine concern for those in need and be prepared to give aid whenever and wherever it is required. Works, should come as one of the results of a life committed to serving the Lord, not as a way to salvation.
The life of the Christian, is the outliving of the in living Christ.

It's no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me.
He lives! He lives! Jesus is alive in me.
It's no longer I that liveth!

Galatians - Way to Salvation

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 3:1-22</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 3:1-22

<itunes:summary>
"O, foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified." ( Galatians Ch.3v1)

Pastor Darryl's address, this morning was on the subject of 'The way of Salvation.' (Galatians Ch.3v1-22.)
The believers in the church at Galatia, were being led astray by the false teachers, who were advocating works rather than faith, and Paul is angry. They had listened to heresies, and turned away from the truth that salvation is by having faith in the finished work of Christ at Calvary, and that alone is sufficient. Adding 'law' to this was futile. We cannot please God with our own ability.
They had also been told that Moses was just as important as Jesus, and they were believing this without thought and the realisation that Moses was just a man. He did not have the power to save, and neither did the law.
God did what the law could not do. (Romans Ch.8v3.)
He did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all. (Rom 8v32.)
Abraham believed, and it was credited to him for righteousness 430 years before the law was given. Why then could they not believe?
The false teachers added the law to grace.
The law cannot save, but Calvary was pure grace.
He did it all for you!
Jesus Christ 'parted the seas' of the law, thus allowing His grace to flow right through.
Have you accepted God's gift by Faith alone, knowing for certain that,
  WE SERVE A RISEN SAVIOUR.

Galatians - Understanding Liberty

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as Sons." [Gal. 4v4-5.]

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from Pauls Epistle to the Galatians Chapter 4, the subject being, LIBERTY.
It was often the way in Roman households for the children of the family to be brought up by servants until they reached a certain age. They were literally in bondage with no rights to any inheritance until the age of maturity was reached. At this time, the son was no longer as a 'slave' but an heir.
In Old Testament times, the Law was as the 'guardian' to prepare for the future coming of Christ. When the time came, Christ appeared, not as a slave. He was a chosen child with all freedom. He was as we know a Jew, born under the law, but lived a perfect life under an imperfect system.

He took our place on the cross thus rescuing us from slavery, that we might be joint heirs with full rights to all God has to offer.
The Galatians were turning away from Christ back to the old way, with all the imperfections, which offered only spiritual bankruptcy which sprang from a poverty stricken religious system.
Without Christ, we are like this!
Do you have a peace giving genuine relationship with the One who went to Calvary for you, or are you still a slave?
Remember! Grace and the law do not mix.

Galatians - Trinkets/Holy Days vs Gospel

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 4:21-31</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 4:21-31

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl spoke from Galatians Chapter 4v21-31, the subject being, Holy Days (The Law) v the Gospel.

The Apostle Paul once again challenges those who are adhering to the old Mosaic law, asking them if they really understand the significance of what they are doing. The law was good for its time, but was only temporary, and needed to be replaced by something more superior and permanent.
The Law had to fall back, and allow the Gospel to take its place.
Under the law, there were many restrictions, many of which had been added by man, on to the original. With the Gospel however there is freedom, and the two do not mix.
Abraham believed the Lord when even in his old age, he was promised an heir and many descendents, this to be in the Lord's good time. Sarah however wanted to speed up the purposes of God, by sending her servant Hagar to her Husband.
Ishmael was born, but was always the slave of a slave, but Sarah's own naturally born son Isaac was by the power of God, born free.
Both became the father's of nations always in conflict.
The two women represent two covenants:-
Hagar represents Jerusalem that now is, slavery and unbelief.
Sarah represents the Jerusalem to come, with believers and total freedom.
Are you a child of Hagar or of Sarah?
Jesus Christ must come into your life before you can enter Heaven, the New Jerusalem.
Come to the Saviour, make no delay.
Jesus is saying, "Come."

Galatians - Heart Issues

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 5:1-15</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 5:1-15

<itunes:summary>
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. [Gal.Ch.5v1.]

Pastor Darryl's subject this morning was regarding "Heart issues," the Scripture portion being Galatians Ch.5v1-15.
Once again Paul warns the Galatian Christians to beware of the flesh and to stay focused upon the Cross. He advises them to cast off the heavy cumbersome yoke of legalism which was quite literally slavery, and to put on the yoke of Jesus Christ which is easy and light and represents total freedom. Once again they were reminded that grace and the law do not mix. The law being full of "Do"s and Don'ts, whereas grace is freedom with no burden attached.
Paul urges them to make Jesus Christ their Lord, not the law..
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we through the indwelling Holy Spirit are motivated by love and able to live beyond self.
We should however always remember that grace, and the knowledge that our sins are forgiven, does not give us a licence to purposely sin.
We must ignore false teachers who hinder the progress of truth thus causing many to stray.
Take on the attitude of Christ. Regard others more than self, remembering that Sanctification is an ongoing process through the power of the Holy Spirit only. Not by the law.
Look upwards to the Cross, the bloodstained Cross.
This only was sufficient to stir the heart of God.
Only this.

Galatians - Reaping and Sowing

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Galatians 6:1-10</itunes:subtitle>

Galatians 6:1-10

<itunes:summary>
The subject of Pastor Darryl's message this morning was, 'Sowing and Reaping.'[Galatians Ch.6v1-10.]
We were challenged to share one another's burdens, knowing that we all have them of one kind or another. We should readily encourage, help, share and show love. Compassion needs to be shown to any who fall into sin, as we personally reflect, that 'there but for the grace of God, go I.'
We should refute legalism which only adds to people's burdens. The law of Christ says to love one another, but the legalists will condemn rather than restore. If we are truly allowing ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit, reaching out to help others will not seem to be a burden.
V5. states however, that we should each also carry our own load.
We must therefore take the responsibility for our own sin, and bear the consequences. God cannot be held responsible for our actions. The blame is ours and ours alone.
Sin is not O.K. Do not ignore it. Its consequences are long term.
Cast your burden on the Lord, He will sustain.
Don't be indifferent, go the extra mile. Sow bountifully, reap joyfully and always remember, that:-

Burdens are lifted at Calvary.
Jesus is very near.

Galatians - Boasting in Christ

Galatians 5:19-31; 6:11-18

<itunes:summary>
In the book of Romans Ch.7v19-20, the Apostle Paul states that, "The good that I will to do, I do not do, but the evil that I will not to do, that I practise. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me."

This morning, Pastor Darryl's subject was, "Boasting in Christ" from the book of Galatians Ch.5v19-31 ; 6v11-18.
As Christians with the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, our old evil nature should gradually disappear as we learn more and more of Christ. Day by day, hour by hour old ways become discarded. This is a supernatural and gradual process. We must however allow the Holy spirit freedom to totally take over our life. Leave the old ways at the cross, remembering that even our tears of repentance need to be washed in the blood of the Lamb.
We will always struggle, and it is only Christ who can rescue us.
The fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control, should become part of our Christian character.
We should always be happy in spite of circumstances.
Remember, that sin is sin in the eyes of God, and that the passion you feed the most, will always become the strongest.
Just allow God to be in control. He is Sovereign.

Little by little every day, little by little in His own way,
Jesus is changing me.
It's a slow growing, but there's a knowing,
That one day perfect, I shall be.

Nehemial - Prayer; Renewal

Nehemiah 1

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the book of Nehemiah Chapter.1 the subject being 'Renewal.'

At the time of Nehemiah, a remnant from the Babylonian captivity have returned to Jerusalem, which was a city in ruins with both the Temple and the wall surrounding the city destroyed. At that time it was a shameful thing for a city to be without walls or gates. Foreign locals were opposing both the returned inhabitants of the city and to any rebuilding attempts. The task seemed impossible, but God works beyond the impossible.
Nehemiah set an example as a great leader, praying for God to perform a mighty work in that place. He showed:-
Concern. He fasted and prayed. Are we concerned enough for those around us needing help, to do likewise?
Adoration. God is awesome. Like Nehemiah we can come humbly before Him, show respect and honour Him, as we plead our case, constantly asking, seeking, knocking. He will answer.
Responsibility. There was a covenant promise between Abraham and God, now set aside and replaced by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Do you love the world more than this? We have a responsibility to live for
Jesus Christ. Are you a person of Prayer?
Expectation. Expect that God is going to work in your life.
Claim His promises. Be bold in your approach.
Have faith. Trust Him.
We don't need a great faith, but to have faith in a great God.

Nehemiah - Our call from God

Nehemiah 2

<itunes:summary>
OUR CALL FROM GOD.
Speaking from the book of Nehemiah Chapter 2. Pastor Darryl told us of Nehemiah's call, while also indicating that we also should always be ready for a call such as this.
Inspired by God, and concerning the ruins of Jerusalem, Nehemiah had a plan, a vision and the determination to see it through. The seemingly impossible task of repairing the walls and gates of the ancient city, was to become a reality, in spite of the fact that for fear of financial loss, the repairs had been previously stopped by the King. Nehemiah approached the King [which in these times could have meant death for him] asking for:-
Leave - permission to leave his position and make the journey.
Letters - to the governors explaining his presence and purpose.
Authority - To obtain the expensive but necessary timber.
Nehemiah prayed and even though there was opposition ahead, doors opened for him.
He was a man of Principles, Prayer and Preparation.

Are you like Nehemiah, prepared to approach the King with problems that to human eyes may seem to be insurmountable?
Are you willing to still trust God in the face of unexpected obstacles?
Can you stick to the task in the face of opposition?
Nehemiah had the faith to say, "Come let us build."
We too must answer the call and be people of faith.
He will give the victory, but we must in turn give Him the Glory.

Nehemiah - Building? - 'get to it'

Nehemiah 3

<itunes:summary>
BUILDING? GET TO IT!
Pastor Darryl spoke today from the book of Nehemiah Chapter 3 and the Apostle Paul's epistle to the Romans Chapter 16.

In Romans Ch.16, there is a list of names of believers who stood firm in their faith, some even risking their lives for the cause of the spread of the Gospel and the Glory of God.
And so it is in Nehemiah. There is an urgent call for workers to repair the ruined wall and gates of the ancient city, and the people come forward.
Aware of a possible life or death situation, their desire was to build a wall that would be dedicated to the Glory of God.
The wall was to be made firm and strong to enable the people to worship without fear. It was a work of faith.
God still calls today for us to be a people of faith.
We are all in need of 'personal repair' to be strengthened by God who wants us to be stable overcomers.
There will always be difficulties. Christianity is not an escape hatch, but by the Grace of God we are made able to overcome these obstacles so that others may see the difference in us, as we work for the cause of the spread of the Gospel message.
We are all one in Christ Jesus. All equal, a priesthood of believers.
Shoulder to shoulder, as were the workers on the wall, working with one purpose to the Glory of God.
God wants you to deny the Natural and take on the Divine.
If you want wisdom to live this way, PRAY.

Nehemiah - Stick's and Stones

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Nehemiah 3</itunes:subtitle>

Nehemiah 3

<itunes:summary>Pastor Darryl's sermon title today, was 'Sticks and Stones,' taken from the Book of Nehemiah Chapter 4v1-14.

The wall and gates of Jerusalem were being rebuilt, the rubble was at last being removed, and the people had a mind to work. BUT, there was also opposition and intimidation. Power seekers looking for control and the subsequent benefits were ridiculing the builders and instilling self doubt within them. Their aim of course was to destroy the morale of the people who were tackling a massive task and were by this time, tired. As the work progressed, the opposition increased.
However, when the enemy laughs at God's people, God is about to work.
This attack was in fact against the Lord, not the people.
Nehemiah prayed and handed the whole situation over to God for Him to work, and the enemies plot was brought to nothing.
The lesson here for us, is when we face danger, don't give up; success is often just around the corner. Have faith in God. Pray for strength.
Be all you can for His Glory. Don't grovel in your own rubble.
God called the people to build the wall.
God calls us to work to build His Kingdom.
When God's work is in progress, Satan will always be aware and will always attack. We too must always be aware of this fact, keep alert and PRAY.
Remember, your neighbours and your enemies are often the same people!
Fight the good fight with all thy might; Christ is thy strength, and Christ thy right.

Everyone Matters - What is Spiritual Gifts

<itunes:summary>
No one person has all the gifts, but no one person is without a gift.
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from 1 Corinthians Ch.12v12-26 on the subject of, 'Spiritual gifts - what are they?

We are all different. We all have natural gifts, talents and abilities. Everyone whether a Christian or not, has a gift of some kind which will develop and mature as it comes into use.
A spiritual gift however is something quite apart from this. When a person surrenders their life over to Christ, accepting Him as Saviour and Lord, a spiritual gift is given. All different, all special and wonderful.
God gives these gifts so that when they are recognised and used for His service, they will enable the church to prosper and grow.
God organises His church in such a way that all may work for the cause of Christ. There is no such thing as a dictatorship. Jesus Christ only is the head, and Lord over the church.
Our God given gift must be recognised and used, and when this happens, there is quite naturally a God given balance.
As it is with our body, all the complex parts working together, each being as important as the other, so it should be with the church. All individuals, all of equal importance.
God has a purpose for each one of us, which He will reveal as He desires.
Become aware of His leading - aware of your own gift - aware of others.
All good gifts around us are sent from Heaven above,
So thank the Lord - O thank the Lord for all His love.

Everyone Matters - Worship Gifts

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Ephesians 5:12-21</itunes:subtitle>

Ephesians 5:12-21

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's subject this morning was, "Everyone matters; worship-gifts."
The portion of Scripture was Ephesians Ch.5v 8-21.

We are all doubtless very much aware of a media campaign against peoples over indulgence in junk food which may both look and taste good, but has very little nutritional value. Using this as an example we should become increasingly aware of indulging in things that will spoil our appetite for God's good solid spiritual food. Allowing this to happen will inevitably result in a case of spiritual starvation.
The Apostle Paul calls for sleepers to awake [v14] and to take their faith seriously. To come into the light and be a contrast to the world around them.
We as a church should take the truth into our hearts, and live it out. Live out the fruit of the Spirit.
Remember, that everybody is somebody in the body of Christ. We are God's workmanship, created to do the work that He has prepared for us. We therefore should live for Him and always encourage others to do likewise.
We also should endeavour to know what is the will of God for us, by reading the truths in His Word and applying them to our own life.
Rise above the way of the unbeliever who has no real purpose, and adopt a heavenly viewpoint, desiring always to live under the influence of the Holy Spirit. We all have different gifts, and all have the capacity to worship.
All gifts should work together for the Glory of God.
To God be the glory, great things He has done.
So loved He the world, that He gave us His Son.

May we never underestimate the significance of this gift.

Brother Alex White spoke to us this morning about the gift of "Helps" from the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans Chapter 12.

Are you a member of your church? Do you feel that you really belong there?
Is your church so important to you, that you feel disappointed when you are not able to be there on the Lord's day?
Are you a member of the world wide church of God that was purchased with the shed blood of Jesus Christ God's Son?
The church is both the body and bride of Christ; the Lord Himself being the Chief Cornerstone, the first Apostles the foundation, and we as the church now present are the "Living stones". Every "stone" is needed and everyone just as important as another.
Voluntary sacrificial service is called for. Offer yourself as a living sacrifice, and your life will be lifted to a new level; living unto Him, for Him.
You are a part of the body of Christ and as such, special gifts have been given to you, quite freely by the will of God.
Have faith in the Great Enabler and use your gift, but beware of self esteem.
Never take for yourself the place of honour but be humble allowing God Himself to lift you up. Present yourself to God, as one approved.
Don't seek out earthly reward, You will receive your crown from the Great Helper Himself. Remember, you have :-
Only one life, 'twill soon be past.
Only what's done for Christ will last.

Anybody can help somebody, so stop being a nobody!

<itunes:summary>
"Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that we be found faithful." [1 Corinthians Ch4v1-2.]

Pastor Darryl's subject this morning, was 'Servant gifts' [Matt. Ch.25v14-30.]
The 'Master; was going on a journey, and before he went away, he gave three servants substantial amounts of money to look after until his return. The first two, being good stewards, put the money to work, each making 100% profit. The third man however just hid the money. It was safe, but he seemingly lacked the initiative to even bank the amount so that it would at least gain interest until the Masters return.
We all, like the servants have been given gifts and talents from the Master for us to use in the furtherance of His Kingdom.
Do you know the Father and Son?
The life of Christ was one of perfect obedience. It was sacrificed for us. We now have liberty and with this comes stewardship. To be a steward in Christ's Kingdom, is an awesome responsibility. Are you like the first two servants, using your gift to its fullest potential, or is it buried?
Love the Master, work for Him and He will lift you up, when you are weary.
Do you know the Father's joy?
The Master returned, and so it will be again. What will you have to lay at His feet when He comes? Are you a good steward? Do you have peace?
Do you know the Father's expectations?
Be faithful, trustworthy and accountable. Work with the gifts you have been given. The Master is coming soon.
To everyone who has, more will be given and he will have abundance.

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the Book of Nehemiah Ch.6v1-14. the subject being, 'Liars, Thieves, and Bad People.'

The rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem was progressing. There were now no breaks in it, although the doors were not yet hung. The enemies of the project, Tobiah and his cohorts had been spreading lies with the aim of either hindering or totally stopping the work, as success here would mean loss of control, wealth, power and prestige for them. There were three main areas of enemy strategy.
COMPROMISE. They tried to get Nehemiah away from the work in order to do him harm. Compromise is in fact an adjustment between conflicting opinions, by modifying standards until agreement is reached. Nehemiah would have none of it. He said, "I am doing a great work and I cannot come down."
He stood for what was important.
SLANDER. The enemies sent a letter, open, so that anyone could read it, rumouring that Nehemiah was setting himself up as King of Israel.
Nehemiah denies the rumour and prays to God for the strength to continue.
THREATS. Nehemiah is then told that unless he hides in the temple behind closed doors, he would be killed.
Nehemiah replies, "Should such a man as I Flee? I will not go in."
He knew that if he ran away and followed dubious information, he would lose the respect of those working with him. His mind was set on the task and he had the courage to ignore the enemy and stand for the truth.
He refused to come down from the wall.
Jesus refused to come down from the cross.
Until the work was finished.
Victory in Jesus.

Nehemiah 7

<itunes:summary>
Genealogies and records, was the title of Pastor Darryl's address this morning, taken from the Book of Nehemiah Chapter 7.

The wall of Jerusalem was complete, the gates were hung and the gatekeepers, singers and Levites had been appointed. [v.1.]
The chapter then lists the important names of the people who had stepped away from the comforts of Babylon, to return to the Holy Land to settle, rebuild and re populate. The city was now safe and the people could work, but they had to have faith in God ,and as a nation be ready to do His will. Jerusalem needed to be rebuilt, for one day in the future, the Son of God would pass through its gates.
As the walls were now strong, so the people needed also to be strong.
God needed these people to lead a separated life to His glory.
And so it is with us. God knows those who are His, and we are here for a reason. We are all servants of His, needing to grow and mature, and thus be able to lead others into maturity also. God is looking for people willing to work for Him, to be gatekeepers in the house of the Lord, always alert and ready to take a stand against the attacks that will come from an increasingly desperate enemy.
Unlike the present 'world' ethic, Christianity is either black or white. There are no compromises, there are no shades of grey. You cannot sit on both sides of the fence
Are you confident, or are you confused?
Only Christ has the answers, only Christ can restore.
Remove the rubble in your life, and be an ambassador for Him.

Would you wish that you could spend Eternity with God; something everlasting, but still out there in your future; or are you looking for the instant often short lived fame that comes with the standards of today's society?
Almost at the end of His journey here on earth, Jesus prays to His Father saying, "Father, the hour has come, glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify You." [Ch.17v1.]
Jesus knows that His time has come- He is focused of the Father.
Prophesy is now ready for fulfilment. Former things will stop.
He is the final sacrifice.
We as humans, were meant to reflect God's glory, but instead, we have tried to take it for ourselves. We say "Look at me," rather than, "look at the One who made me!" We are all dead in our sin, but the Father gave the Son authority to grant Eternal life to any who will turn to Him.
The salvation plan is His initiative. He works for us.
"This is Eternal Life that they may know You." [V3.}
It is about a rich relationship with Him. Do you have one?
The Jesus we consider here, existed before the world began, and this Jesus, is the One in whose presence every knee shall bow.
His resurrection converted the cross from a symbol of shame to one of Glory. He was exalted, into the presence of the Father.
Will you be there to meet Him?
'To God be the Glory. He gave us His Son.

Good News

Luke 1:26-38

<itunes:summary>
This morning, Pastor Darryl gave us a message of "Good News" from the Gospel of Luke Chapter 1v26-38.

"Now in the sixth month, the Angel Gabriel was sent by God to the city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgins name was Mary."
The Angel Gabriel, came with a message. He had been sent by God. He obeyed. He fulfilled his commission.
Mary, is told that she has found favour with God. She will conceive, bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
He will be great, the Son of the Most High, and will inherit the throne of His father David, with an everlasting kingdom.
Mary quite naturally responds to this news with a question. How can this be?
Then, displaying complete trust she said, "Behold, the maidservant of the Lord." The promised Messiah of the Old Testament is coming!
God came near!
Heaven touched earth, so that earth could know Heaven.
Mary had a 'Christmas card' from God.
How would you react if you received one?
We need to look at Christ as God himself. He came in humility and died on a cross because He loves you.
This Christmas season, be a 'Postcard' and go out and share His love with someone who is lonely or in need in some other way.
Allow the love of God to flow out through you.
Love came down at Christmas, Love all lovely, Love Divine;
Love was born at Christmas, star and angels gave the sign.
						Christina Rossetti.

'See that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.' [1PeterCh.1v22b.]

This morning, Pastor Darryl spoke to us about true Christian love, from the First Epistle of John Ch.4v7-5v3.
WHAT IS LOVE? Society in general at the present, is looking for love but does not understand what real love is. There is a deep longing and searching for love but this love is both incomplete and unfulfilled. There is an essential element missing.
GOD IS LOVE. True love is of God. He only is the source and origin of love. With His love controlling our life, we may walk in love day by day, without fear, as His perfect love casts out fear.
Those who do not know this type of love, do not know God.
CHRIST IS THE MANIFESTATION OF THIS LOVE. He came that we might be able to live through him, the One who was the Atoning Sacrifice for our sins.
We are called to show the lost the difference between pure love that is
Everlasting, and perverted love that quickly fades away.
Love is our confidence for the future, for Christ will return, the dead will be raised ,and there will be a day of judgement.
Remember! We may love Him, but He loved us first and will never cease to do so.
'Love ever gives, forgives, outlives,
And ever stands with open hands,
For while it lives, it gives.
For this is love's prerogative,
To give, and give, and give.
	John Oxenham.

Christian Faith

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the first epistle of John Ch.5v4-13.
The subject of the address was, "Christian Faith."

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."
Are you completely "filled" and satisfied in your walk with the Lord?
Do you have a thirst [longing] for the things of the Lord?
Do you walk by faith, or by sight?
Take hold of this faith and the Victory is ours.
Have you emptied the rubbish of the world out of your personal cup, and allowed Him to fill it with His Love?
When we believe in Jesus Christ, and endeavour to walk the pathway of life close to Him, we believe by faith in things not seen.
"For whoever is born of God, overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith."[v4]
Christianity is not just what we believe, but in whom we believe!
We must believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God.
We must get back to Calvary, for it is the shed blood of Jesus Christ that covers. None other!
No Cross - No Christianity - No Salvation - No hope.

'He who has the Son, has life.
He who does not have the Son of God, does not have life.

'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.'

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the First Epistle of John, Ch.5v14-21.
The subject being, "Christian Faith."
This world cannot offer us any certainty, but the Word of God is filled with certainties. God gave Abraham guarantees. He has been doing this ever since, and He will do it for you.
We have Eternal Life, which begins the moment that we believe.
We can have confidence in approaching God ,and can be bold in our approach to Him. We should honour His name, and pray like Christ. "Not My will, but Thine." Not selfish with wrong motives, but always God honouring.
Prayer is always answered: sometimes -
Directly - Instantly.
Delayed - our timing is wrong.
Differently - God has another plan.
Denial - sometimes, it is just no, as with Pauls affliction.
We should always beware of hypocrisy [lying to the Holy Spirit.] Many have died because of this. God may call home those who are working consistently against His will.
We have Divine protection, but Satan will test us.

'Tho Satan should buffet, tho trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
                          It is well!     Horatio Spafford.

Christ's Power to Forgive

"He [Jesus] said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace." Luke Ch.7v5.

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the Gospel of Luke Ch.7v36-50.
A Woman set free.
The woman was a sinner. She had a bad reputation, and in the culture of that time, this was a life sentence. There was no forgiveness!
BUT - Was God willing to forgive?
Did He have the power to wash away the stain of her sin?
Jesus on the day in question, was having a meal at the home of Simon, a Pharisee. In her state of desperate need, the Woman quite literally gate- crashed the party. She moved straight to the feet of Jesus, realising as she did so that He was indeed the Messiah. As her plan unfolded, she showed -
Emotion, as she washed His feet with her tears, let down her hair in order to wipe His feet, and then anoint them with expensive fragrant oil.
Humility, as she wept, realising that her sins were at last forgiven.
Adoration. She was overwhelmed as she knelt and kissed His feet, while enduring the scorn that her act had caused.
Simon however, judged. He showed none of the above emotions towards the Messiah. He was self righteous, but was reminded by the Lord of the way the two debtors were both forgiven regardless of what amount of money they owed their master.
We all need to adopt an attitude of true repentance.
Real worship begins at this point.

O Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Kneel and adore Him, the Lord is His name.

Christ's Power to Raise Dead and Heal

<itunes:author>Gary Fitzgerald</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Gary Fitzgerald preached on - Luke 8:40-56</itunes:subtitle>

Luke 8:40-56

<itunes:summary>
This morning, we were blessed with a personal testimony, and a message from Gary Fitzgerald. The Scripture passage was from Luke Ch.8v40-56.

The power of Christ over death and disease.
Have you at some point in your life, been at the point of desperation?
During his testimony, our speaker indicated that he had been there and had found that the world system had no answers. There was for him, and for us all, freedom found in Christ alone.
There was a woman who had been desperately sick for twelve years. She had spent all her money on physicians who had not helped her.
She was suffering physically, mentally and emotionally. She was in fact an outcast. Ceremonially unclean.( Leviticus Ch.5v25-30.)
In faith, she struggled through the crowd that was thronging the Lord, and reached out, managing to just touch the hem of His garment.
She touched Him and the cure was immediate.
How does this apply to us?
At some point in life's journey, everyone will face a desperate situation. As already stated, the world has no answers. The only way is to seek Christ, and have faith that it is He alone who will have the solution.
The woman's faith made her well, and this is our link also.
He is the rewarder of those who seek Him, remembering that with God nothing is impossible.
Jesus Christ can change your life.
Have faith! Reach out; call out and He will answer.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.

is Christ #1?

Luke 9:57-62

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from St. Luke's gospel Ch. 9v 57-62.
The cost of following Christ.
We serve a Lord who gave up more for us than we could ever imagine.
He left the glories of Heaven to enter this sin filled earth, to eventually suffer at the hands of corrupt men, and to die on a felons cross, for you and for me.
His subsequent resurrection, is our guarantee that we too will be raised.
How committed are you to Christ?
Remember this fact. It is easy to be involved, but extremely difficult to be fully committed. If we are on the path of commitment, we should show --
1.Complete abandonment.
Be prepared to leave all in order to follow Him. The Creator of the Universe left a Heavenly home, to lead a life here of humble dedication to His work.
Spreading the gospel message is urgent. Don't be weighed down with the trappings of the world.
2. Separation.
True discipleship is costly. It involves complete surrender with no excuses The Disciples immediately left all to follow Him. Are You willing to count the cost and do likewise?
3. Willingness of Heart.
Are you willing to do whatever He asks you to do?
Elisha destroyed his livelihood and arose to follow Elijah. Do you hear Jesus saying, "Follow Me?"
4. A complete priority given to Jesus Christ.
He must take first place. He desires 100% dedication. Come to Him in true meekness and humility. Make Jesus your Number One.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

'The Lord appointed seventy, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then he said to them - "Go your way. Behold I send you out as lambs among wolves." [Luke Ch. 10v1;3.]
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from the above mentioned chapter, his subject being, 'Are we sharing our faith?'
These people, were ambassadors of the King, sent out to spread the good news that, 'The King was coming.'
They were not disciples or evangelists, but just ordinary people going out in order to reach ordinary people. They took no luggage, no money, nothing to distract. They were dependent on the Lord alone for all their needs.
If they were welcomed into a house, they were to pronounce peace upon it.
They had to learn to eat with thanks what was put in front of them, and in general indentify with the family.
They needed also to become resilient, as some would inevitably reject the message that they were bringing.
'The Messiah is near. The King is coming.
The ambassadors returned, enthusiastic and excited, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name." Satan's power was broken.
These people served the King of kings with real joy.
Ordinary people responded to an extraordinary God.
How about you? Remember, it is a wonderful thing to be saved.
Can you with true reverence say -
The King is coming, the King is coming.
I just heard the trumpet sounding and soon His face I'll see.
The King is coming, the King is coming.
Praise God, He's coming for me.

Worship - Praise consuming our life

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Psalm 63</itunes:subtitle>

Psalm 63

<itunes:summary>

Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from Psalm 63. A Psalm of David. The subject being:- 'Praise consuming our life.'

David and his family are fleeing for their lives. They are at the point of losing everything and the situation at this time for them, is desperate.
David however, sings a song of praise.
"O, God, You are my God; early will I seek You."
My soul thirsts for You, because Your loving kindness is better than life.
David remembers past worship, and now in this time of extreme need, he is able to draw from this.
God, for David was a personal God. "You are my God." [v1.]
He was able to worship in spirit and in truth.
For us, on a personal level, when life becomes difficult, can we rise above circumstances and find victory?
We need to rise above the burden of personal sin, look to the cross, and say, "Lord I am a sinner." Be able to say like David, "O God, you truly are my God." Personal worship begins, when we are willing to hand everything over to God, and spend time with Him each day, in praise, worship and communication.
Don't just be a Sunday Christian, check on your Monday face as well!
Be different, and rejoice regardless of circumstances.
Job did, Paul and Silas did, David did!
Is your soul thirsting for God?
Remember! Those who partake of the 'Living Water' will never thirst again.

Worship - Praise Provoked

Psalm 146

<itunes:summary>
"While I live, I will praise the Lord. I will sing praises to my God while I have my being." [Psalm 146v2]

This morning, Pastor Darryl spoke from Psalm 146, the subject being,
'Praise Provoked.'
In worship, we should focus wholly upon God and always exalt His Holy name. Remember just how big God really is. Spend time with Him. Spend time reading and absorbing His word. He does not change.
Worship should never be considered as trivial. When we come to worship, we should focus both mind and heart in praise to the Lord.
As 'church goers' all of our actions should be Christ centered. He needs to be not just the centre of our worship, but the centre of every other aspect of our life, on an ongoing basis. Not just Sunday, but every other day as well.
God must be exalted above all else. Celebrate and honour Him.
God must come first, His Word must always be part of our worship.
God is good. Focus on him and don't get caught up with peripherals.
Know Him as your Lord and Saviour. Absorb the truths in His word and always be honest with Him. Remember, He sees and knows all things!
There is no longer a temple. He is now always here in the midst of us as we come to worship.
'O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim;
With gold of obedience and incense of lowliness,
Kneel and adore Him, the Lord is His name.

Worship - Praise and awe

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Psalm 95:6-7</itunes:subtitle>

Psalm 95:6-7

<itunes:summary>
"Oh come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God."

This morning Pastor Darryl spoke on, 'Praise and Awe.' Psalm 95v6-7.
Do we as a church worship in a way that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father?
We read in Acts Chapter 2v41-42, of the 'early church' that "Those who gladly received His word were baptised - and they continued steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."
Are you in awe of God?
Do you when you pray approach the Throne of Grace with due reverence, fear, and wonder?
Do you approach the Creator and Maker of all things with humility, realising that all that we have is far more than we as sinners could ever deserve?
When we come to worship we should keep focused, be always aware of the needs of those around us, but always stay humble as we remember just what it is that our Creator has done for us.
He gave His life for you. The Creator of the universe died for YOU.
Be in awe of Him for He is Holy, and as you pray, confess to Him, put your needs before Him, show grateful thanks for all He has done and will continue to do in your life, and adore Him.
Come into His presence with thanksgiving, and enter His courts with praise.
Today is the time to hear His voice and obey.
We may not have a tomorrow.

Worship - Understanding Worship

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Psalm 40:1-11, 16</itunes:subtitle>

Psalm 40:1-11, 16

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke to us this morning, on the subject of 'Praise and Thanksgiving, from Psalm 40.

This Psalm is a Psalm of David, who, though in great despair, is still able to worship God and to acknowledge His awesome greatness.
David has been through a time of great trouble and knows that there is more to come, but in this Psalm he likens himself to the Prophet Jeremiah who was rescued out of the pit, out of the miry clay. His feet have now been set upon a rock, a solid foundation.[v2]
He counts his blessings and exalts Christ as he looks into the future. He knows that regardless of circumstances, the Lord will sustain him.
David, in the face of adversity exalts the name of Christ, and so it should be at all times with us.
David counts his blessings and presses on.
He puts his trust in a God who has and always will care for him, and who in like manner will do so for us.
Pray for a heart like David; a heart of thanksgiving.
We need to magnify God, become immersed in the truths contained in His Word, and come to realise just how great our God really is.
God is faithfull. He is your help and deliverer at all times, whether in trouble or in joy.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done.
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Worship - Praise from the Heart - Personal Worship

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Psalm 138</itunes:subtitle>

Psalm 138

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl spoke to us this morning, from Psalm 138.
This is another Psalm of David, in which he raises up to God praise for answered prayer, praise from the heart, personal worship.

In this Psalm, David worships with his whole heart, he sings praises [v1-2]
God was there for David, His presence was a reality, and David does not hold back from personal worship.
God was for David, [and still is for us all,] on the throne.
David was really serious in his worship, and did not care what other people thought of him. His heart was right.
Only Jesus Christ should be seated in your heart, and central in your life.
Beware of getting lost in "Vanity City" and in doing so lose sight of the claims of Christ in your life. He should be your "All in All."
Paul and Silas worshipped God while in prison and because of this, people were saved. Like David, they were wholehearted in their worship regardless of very adverse circumstances. For them, it was "Jesus only."
If there are unresolved problems, or unconfessed sins in your life that hold back the effectiveness of your worship, deal with them. Then, fix your eyes upon Jesus and Him only.
We have been set aside to worship, and as we focus on Him, all else will fade in the light of eternity.
Be energised by Him. He cares for you. He has a plan for you.
Remember, God's word is rock solid truth. His promises will never fail.
He who has begun a good work in you,
Will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. [Philippians Ch.1v6.]

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full on His wonderful face.

Mothers Day - When it's Tough to be a Mother

2 Samuel 21:1-14; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

<itunes:summary>
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is Love." [1 Cor. Ch.13v13.]
Graeme Lowe spoke this morning on the subject of, 'When it's tough to be a Mother', from 2Samuel Ch.21v1-14.
The Lord had sent a three year famine upon the land, because Saul and his house had killed many Gibeonites.
To make atonement for this act, seven men were to lose their life. These men were, the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, and the two sons of Rizpar. They fell, all seven together, and were put to death in the first days of the barley harvest.
Rizpar, here, as a Mother shows a fine example of the love that a mother has for her children. She spread sackcloth on the ground, and stayed close by the bodies, thus protecting them from being attacked by either birds or wild animals. She did this from the beginning of barley harvest until the onset of the late rains. [probably around six months]
She remained faithfull, experiencing both grief and sadness, and perhaps wondering why God had allowed this to happen.
Arrows often pierce the hearts of loving Mothers. Why doesn't God?
Couldn't there have been another way?
Rizpars love was rewarded - the bodies were finally buried - she had closure. God was always there.
Mothers, if you feel like giving up, turn to God for strength, wisdom, hope.
We have a God who cares. We are a part of His family, and when He takes us home, there will be only joy. We will then KNOW the Father who loves us.

When Mothers of Salem, their children brought to Jesus,
He sweetly smiled and kindly said, "Suffer little children to come unto Me."

Worship - Praise from Heaven and Earth - Corporate Worship

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Psalm 148</itunes:subtitle>

Psalm 148

<itunes:summary>
"Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord."
This morning, Pastor Darryl's subject was, 'Corporate worship,' Praise from Heaven and Earth, taken from Psalm 148 and Luke Ch. 19v37.

Why do we worship? Who or what do we worship?
"The world" as we know it, does worship, but what is radically wrong in most cases, is the focus of the worship. Much useless time and energy is used in the idolising of identities, sport, or the latest 'screen' or phone gadget etc.
All these are worshipped with intensity, but the perspective is quite wrong.
As Christ rode into Jerusalem on a colt, the people saw Him as the King who would be the one to change their way of living. He was the one who would rescue them from the oppression of Roman rule, and who would make things start to happen. Unknown to them, their perspective was wrong.
Yes! He would bring about change, but not in the way they expected. In just a few days after this event, He would surrender His life in order to change the world scene for ever. His new order was for the future, for eternity.
He came as the Suffering Messiah, and they did not understand. They were expecting a King who would solve their problems now!
We need to worship the 'Live Cornerstone', with intent and purpose. With a worship that is not just for Sunday, but one that flows out and is noticed by those with whom we meet on other days. Our hope and trust is not in the world, but in Heaven where all the Promises in God's word will come to pass. We will worship in Heaven, but it should begin today.
He is Lord: He is Lord. He has risen from the dead and He is Lord!
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess;
That Jesus Christ is Lord.
