<itunes:author>Alex White</itunes:author>

<itunes:summary> Brother Alex White spoke this morning, from 2 Corinthians 2:5-11, and 1 Peter 5:5-11, his subject being "The Devil."
The Devil is a personal spiritual being who influences the minds of all people whether you belong to him or not.
He teaches his own that they are free people with a free will, while they are in fact bond slaves in darkness. He does not tempt his own, but encourages them to steal, kill and destroy.
Fear dominates devil culture.
Regarding the Lord's people; the Devil hates the Bible, but his main point of attack is on the believers assurance of Eternal Salvation.
The Devil will tempt the people of God.
He hates the unity of the Church.
We must stand firm, resist his advances, put on the whole armour of God and fight, remembering that at the name of Jesus, Satan's host doth flee.
His time is short. His doom is writ.</itunes:summary>

James 1:13-18

<itunes:summary>As our pastor Darryl spoke from James 1:13-18, on the subject of temptation. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden Of Eden we have indulged in the "blame game." Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the Serpent; for their behaviour, eventually Adam blamed God, "The woman You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." God tempts no man, we are responsible for our own sin. Note carefully, 1 Corinthians 10:13. We must be accountable; responsible; ready; and thankful; if we desire to live to the glory of God.</itunes:summary>

James 1:17-27

<itunes:summary>Pastor Darryl spoke to us from the Epistle of James, Ch.1v17-27.
He began by illustrating just how fragile life is, emphasising the fact that we must be real in our faith, making every day count.
This passage in James is a call to holiness.
We must not only read God's word, but apply it to our lives, making sure that we are doers of the word, not hearers only.
We must be quick to hear (and listen), slow to speak and slow to anger, leaving God to judge, and deal with issues.
We must get rid of the 'filth' of life. We are grafted into Christ - allow the 'Master' to prune that we may bear good fruit.
Be serious in reading God's word using it as a daily cleansing.
Do not become a complacent surface level Christian.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>One summer evening in 1865, a young William Booth walked the slums of London's east end among the filthy ragged and destitute, declaring that, "There is Heaven in East London for everyone."
Pastor Darryl spoke from the Epistle of James Ch.2v1-13, his subject being, God honouring conduct.
We must not show favouritism, prejudice or partiality towards others.
All people are equal, and all are important.
We must avoid elitism, and the 'showy physical', but look inward to the heart. We should never judge others, and must not justify 'little sins' as though they are of no consequence.
As Brothers and Sisters, we are ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.

"James - Genuine Faith - Living Faith"

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 2:14-26</itunes:subtitle>

James 2:14-26

<itunes:summary>Faith in Jesus Christ as both Lord and Saviour is essential for life, but it must not stop there.
Both Abraham and Rahab epitomised faith by their works, and we should do likewise.
Genuine faith is needed, not just mere words.
Faith and works go together, we cannot have one without the other. Faith must produce fruit. A new birth is followed by a new life.
We must be Christ centred not self centred.
We must both talk the talk, and walk the walk. Evidence that we are living our faith must be seen.
We must realise that a profession of faith is not necessarily a possession of faith.
A true believer shows vital signs, and should live believing that God is not merely a GREAT God, but a GIGANTIC God.
DARE TO BE HOLY!</itunes:summary>

"James - Concerning the tongue"

James 3:1-12

<itunes:summary> Pastor Darryl spoke from the Epistle of James 3:1-12.
Concerning the tongue.
To be human is to communicate, but communication so often fails. Wrong words can destroy, their effect being like a stain that may be covered up but never completely removed.
Our tongue though small, is near impossible to control. Like a bit in the mouth of a horse, the rudder of a ship, or the spark that starts a great fire, its power is disproportionate to its size.
We must always be on guard, remembering that by our words we will be either justified or condemned. We should not communicate negatively, but always try to build up.
When we speak, do people hear a "Jesus accent?"
The words we speak should be graceful and spirit filled as we yield our tongue to God. </itunes:summary>

"James - Heavenly Wisdom - Spirit vs flesh"

James 3:13-18

<itunes:summary> Pastor Darryl spoke today from the Epistle of James Ch 3:13-18.
The subject being, Heavenly wisdom. The spirit versus the flesh.
Peacemakers who sow in peace, raise a harvest of righteousness.
Jesus, throughout His life, made all the right choices.
We must therefore choose whether to follow God's way, or man's system of human achievement.
As believers, do we choose to live under His headship, living our life to the glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, or do we just refuse His direction?
Earthly wisdom is sensual, devilish and not from God.
Heavenly wisdom, comes from a clear understanding of God's word, which will give us 'Spiritual integrity'.
People must be able to see in our lives, the things about which we speak! We must endeavour to, 'Walk in the Spirit, overcome the flesh and live a Holy life.'
Choose you this day whom you will serve!

"James - Cure for Worldliness - Overcoming Pride"

James 4:1-10

<itunes:summary>Pastor Darryl spoke today from the Epistle of James Ch.4v1-10, his subject being, 'The cure for worldliness.'
The story is told, that as the great ocean liner Titanic began to sink into the icy waters of the Irish sea, the ships band came up on deck and continued to play the popular dance music, but as the end drew near, they changed mode and played the old hymn, 'Nearer my God to Thee. 'Staying close to God and giving Him complete control over every aspect of life, is the only way that we can avoid the traps prepared for us by the evil one.
We must avoid the trap of selfishness which was first seen in the Bible with Eve. Selfishness lies deep within a contentious heart, which in turn leads to arguments, fighting and a lack of unity.
We must beware of secularism; a love of the world with no room for God. Remember that the world system is anti God.
Satan's first weapon is pride, even though it was through pride that he himself fell. If we refuse to surrender, the devil will flee.
Love God supremely. His grace is greater than all our sin.

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's subject this morning, was "Practising Humility" taken from the epistle of James Ch.4v11-17.
Don't cruise through life with your spiritual engine turned off. Remember that the Lord is coming.
We should not judge, be critical or slander, but confront people when necessary in love. We should live by God's law of love, (Love God and love your neighbour) remembering that God is judge, lawgiver and in all things Sovereign.
We should not boast or become proud, but rely on God and trust Him with all things, remembering that all our plans are limited by His Sovereign will.
We should always be humble and acknowledge God always when making decisions, trusting Him on a daily basis.
Our days are numbered. Be careful about tomorrow.
Only one life, 'twill soon be past.
Only what's done for Jesus will last.

"James - Righteous Living - Overcoming Worldliness"

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 5:1-12</itunes:subtitle>

James 5:1-12

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's subject today was 'Righteous living; overcoming worldliness.' The Bible reading was the Epistle of James Ch.5v1-12.)
The big question being, "How to live by faith in a secular world."
In the era of Roman dominion, there was no middle class, you were either rich or poor, and Christians were generally poor. The rich lived selfishly, hoarding and clinging to possessions, while the poor were unfairly paid and oppressed. They however knew that the Lord was coming back, and lived with this hope before them.
These things need to be remembered now.
We need to remember that blessings come from the Lord.
The Lord is at the door, we should look for His return, but work while waiting. Avoid grumbling and making false promises.
Christ alone is Judge.
Cling to Jesus Christ. He is in control.
The King is coming. It may be today!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His Wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His Glory and Grace.

"James - Prayer - Power of Prayer"

<itunes:author>Darryl Kilker</itunes:author>

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - James 5:13-20</itunes:subtitle>

James 5:13-20

<itunes:summary>

In the adverse experiences of life, we need to learn to Stop, Pray and Practise Patience.
Prayer is one of the most neglected areas in the life of the Christian.
Elijah, a great man of faith, prayed earnestly, and God did great things through him. He wanted God's will to be done, not his own, and he gave God the glory.
We should pray for those suffering for their faith, those who are sick and those experiencing the trials of life.
Pray personally - Pray for one another - Pray when things are good or adverse. God will answer your prayer.
Pray and wait for God to work, remembering that He may be using the difficult times in order to raise a person in His service.
Spend time alone with Him in prayer. Satan knows the fearsome worth of time spent at the Saviour's feet. He will do any thing to distract and will impose any barrier to this Holy place.
Satan wants you to be sad.
Pray in the name of the Lord, call out to Him, be real in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged. Take it to the Lord in Prayer.

Song of Solomon 2:8-3:5

<itunes:summary>
Pastor Darryl's message this morning entitled "Courting", was taken from the 'Song of Solomon' Ch. 2v8 -3v5.

Are you in love with the Lord and eagerly awaiting His return?
The Shulamite girl in the above passage is very much in love. She and her lover are for a while apart, but she is yearning for his return.
During the separation, she questions his love for her above all others. She awaits his return, but she is not sure.
He, however makes it publicly clear that she is his one true love.
His banner of love is over her and her alone.
Do you love Jesus? Do you yearn for Him as the Shulamite yearned for her absent lover?
Don't get caught up with sin, letting the "little foxes" rule your life. Don't embrace the material and transient things of the world, thus forsaking your first love.
Christ wants a fervent, passionate and total relationship with you.
His love will never fail; His banner is over you. Communicate with Him. Pray. Be lovesick for your Lord.
He is coming back soon and swiftly for His Bride, the Church.
Take refuge in the One you love.
'In my hand no price I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling.
Rock of ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee.'

"Song of Solomon - Royal Wedding"

Song of Solomon 3:6-5:1

<itunes:summary>
Some six months ago through media coverage, we were able to witness a Royal wedding, with all the pomp and ceremony that goes with such an occasion. It was exciting, romantic and we hope, a once in a life time event. Pastor Darryl spoke this morning of another Royal wedding, that of King Solomon and his Shulamite bride.
The Bride, longing for her King sees him approaching, and detects, the perfume of the Royal spices, myrrh and frankincense. A sweet aroma surrounds her King as he draws near.
The King, yearns to protect his bride. He has made adequate provision for this. He comes in splendour, reflecting the true glory of his kingship.
As this King comes for his bride, so will Christ come for His bride, the church. He longs to take His loved ones home.
The Church meanwhile should leave a sweet aroma in the world.
We are the "aroma" of Christ to the unsaved.
Our protection is through prayer. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. As the king loved his bride, so Christ loves His church. We need to understand the depth of His love. He went to Calvary and died for us.
O the deep deep love of Jesus, love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean vast of blessing, 'tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep deep love of Jesus, 'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory, for it lifts me up to Thee.

Song of Solomon 6:4-8:4

<itunes:summary>
Speaking once again from the Song of Solomon Ch.6v4-8v4. Pastor Darryl's topic this morning was, Mature Love.
King Solomon's love for his Shulamite bride has lasted throughout the years, and is obvious to all. She is still beautiful in his eyes and he still compliments her. The spark of first love is still there. In his opinion, she is true royalty.
As we move forward into the present time, these things should still be. A good marriage should be full of love and enjoyment, and problems need always to be dealt with as they arise.
Do not get into the situation of being unequally yoked. If both are walking with the Lord, you will both love Him and each other.
The Lord loves you more than you can ever know. Time spent in His presence and time with each other are both essential.
Love is a total commitment.
Love strengthens and intensifies as it gets deeper.
Passion and durability cannot be extinguished.
Love is priceless.
Submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, love Him, bond with Him.
Refer to His instruction manual often. It will not lead you astray.
Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know.
Spirit breathing from above, thou hast taught me, it is so.
O this full and perfect peace, O this transport all divine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.

"The Origin of the Universe - Heavens and Earth Created"

<itunes:subtitle>In this podcast Darryl Kilker preached on - Genesis 1:1-25</itunes:subtitle>

Genesis 1:1-25

<itunes:summary>
By the word of the Lord, the Heavens were made. (Psalm 33v6.)
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning on, 'The origin of the Universe.'
"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth." (Gen.1v1.)
Evolutionists teach that everything evolved from a pre existing something. God however, in His Infinite power created the world from a 'blank canvas. (out of nothing.)
God created, controls and sustains all that He has made. There is a purpose in nature; God sets the boundaries. He is the God of the universe who gives life to everything and without Him nothing was made that was made. Even those who will not acknowledge God have no excuse, for 'Since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly to be seen by all. (Romans 1v20.)
When God had finished His work of creation, He said that it was good. Unlike our feeble efforts, He got it right at the first go!
There are two statements in the Word of God that Satan particularly detests, the first being, "In the beginning God created," and the second, "Jesus Christ came to save."
Do you believe in the God of creation who sent His only Son to die for your sins and mine? Do you love Him? He created you also!
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small.
All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
He gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

THE KING IS COMING.
He is coming again, was the subject of Brian White's address this morning, taken from 1Thess. Ch.4v13-18.
God always keeps His promises. Right through the ages, none have ever failed. The last promise recorded in His word is, "Surely, I am coming quickly." (Rev. Ch. 22v20.)
Quickly! Yes, but the actual time is not for us to know. "Of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." (Matt. Ch.24v36.)
We should be living our life as though He is coming today. We will have no warning. He will come unexpectedly so we should always be prepared. "Behold, I am coming as a thief, blessed is he who watches" (Rev. Ch.16v15.)
Signs predicting His 'near' return are in the Scriptures, and we can see these taking place. Israel has become a nation once again. The Word of God is being preached worldwide. There is an increase in lawlessness and self centeredness Personal standards are declining and there is a distinct lack of discipline.
The signs are but guideposts. The fact is that,
The King is coming! The King is coming!
Praise God, He's coming for me.
Are you ready to meet Him?
Be sure. There are no last minute second chances.

The foolish man says in his heart that there is no God; but all things were created through Him, and for Him. We were created for His good pleasure, and in His image.
Pastor Darryl spoke this morning from Genesis Ch. 1v26-2v25. The subject was, Man/Woman created.
Creating human life, was the crowning point of all of God's creation.
God saw that it was very good. God created a body for us as a temple in which His Holy Spirit may dwell. Man is a unique creation with a personality, a conscience, and the ability to communicate with Him. We possess knowledge, feelings and a free will
We were made to know right from wrong, and to take responsibility for our own actions.
Our conscience must be governed by the Word of God which is infallible. Sin has marred our ability to communicate with God for all have sinned and fallen short of God's standards.
He only can reach down through the blood of Jesus to lift us up from the pit of sin.
The Lord's last word to the Church was a plea for repentance
Would you be free from your burden of sin?
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's power in the blood of the Lamb!
